Inaugural Fundraising Committee Meeting

Tod Godin, VP, presents park features February 19, 2003:

Now that the Park project is underway, the problem becomes how to pay for it, and to face that necessity, a Fundraising Committee was formed and held its first meeting to plan a strategy for success.

The Park Project is coming along, with ownership of the land secure, all the necessary permits in place, clearing of the land has begun, and there are $40,000 in pledges.

Much of the meeting's work focussed on developing a fund raising strategy, finding supporters, developing a project brochure and handout package to encourage community participation.

Michelle Wheeler presented a check on behalf of the Hampstead Chamber of Commerce to Mr. Tod Godin, VP and Past-President of the Kiwanis Club of Hampstead.

Fundraising ideas included selling tee-shirts, door-to-door solicitation, direct mailing campaign, peer-to-peer solicitation, etc. and teams were proposed to explore and develop various money raisers, signs, a marketing package, newsletter and other publications.

Hampstead Kiwanis Park will have a booth and display at the Hampstead Chamber of Commerce EXPO! May 17th at Topsail High School.
