How do I reserve the picnic shelter?
Call Pender County Parks & Recreation at 910-259-1330. You can only reserve reserve half the shelter.
Why can I only reserve half the shelter?
It is hot and sunny at HKP and want to make sure everybody can get out of the heat of the sun.
Where does the money from the concessions go?
All profits from this concession stand go directly to maintaining, improving, and expanding Hampstead Kiwanis Park.
Why is it named Hampstead Kiwanis Park if Pender County owns it?
Hampstead Kiwanis donated the land to Pender and formed a partnership with Pender to build a wonderful Park. Hampstead Kiwanis is still very much involved with the Park.

How does Hampstead Kiwanis Park keep growing and look so nice?
Hampstead Kiwanis club fund raises and volunteers hundreds of hours of labor, the community has taken pride and pitches in, and Pender County does a beautiful job of maintaining the Park.
What is Kiwanis?
Kiwanis is a global organization and our mission is serving the children of the world. www.kiwanis.org. You can get involved with Hampstead Kiwanis by visiting a meeting at the Sawmill Grill on Thursday mornings at 7:30 am.
Why do sports recreation partners have to put volunteers in the concession stand and where does the money go?
We need help to have it opened during games. We ask for 2 volunteers while games are being played. Hampstead Kiwanis has 1 volunteer to help direct the concession stand. All money stays at the park. See answer to Q3.
How do I get my kid involved in playing sports at HKP?
We are partnered with Topsail baseball, Topsail girls softball, Pop Warner football, and Port City Soccer. Go to our home page and you will see a link for these programs. You can also call Pender County Parks & Recreation at 910-259-1330.
What can I do to make a difference?
You can donate money, volunteer in the concession stand, pick up trash, or volunteer any other way during our events. See our calendar on the main page.
